For a while now I have been looking for some little retro looking blocks. 

Even though my children have all outgrown this stage in life, I wanted to get them for ME!  I love the whimsical looking little prints with funky letters and numbers.  (and for $3 it was a steal!)

Waking up this morning I got to have a birthday treasure hunt from one son (with candy hearts as the treasure), and a little note from my other two.

Simply wonderful little men that love their mom and want her to have a good birthday.  Love them.

Simple Pleasures - Fruit Sorbet

For years I resisted shopping at Costco.  I have a really big problem with paying to shop somewhere.

A couple of years ago we bought a card.

These are one of the benifits of that card:

How could you resist that yummy sorbet in real fruit "cups"??!!

At just over $10 for each box of 8 (I think) it is a pricy little snack, but one of my simple pleasures!

(coconut and pineapple, those are my favorite!)

Simple Pleasures - Slippers

I know last time it was hot water, but man, it is nice to have WARM things.  :)

This week I am profoundly grateful for slippers.

I am not a fan of wearing socks, or shoes, or almost anything like that...but slippers, I love slippers.

In college I had a pair of slippers made from phentex.  Phentex is incredible.  It never gets destroyed.  (or so it seems)  I  wore those puppies EVERYWHERE!  I wore them in the summer, in the winter and everything in between.  I wear slippers to the store, I wear slippers around the house, and almost everywhere else.  (I even have a pair for nursery!)  I love to have a great pair of slippers.  When my slippers from college were finally retired I was so sad.  I went through MANY pairs after that because frankly, most people don't love their slippers as much as I and the slippers are not as good quality.  (:D)

THEN, my sister gave me this pair!

They are made from phentex.

They come everywhere with me!  :)

Simple pleasure for my permanently cold feet...phentex slippers!

Simple Pleasures - HOT Water

Last night I used the whole hot water tank in a shower.

Let you think this is a regular occurrence let me assure you it is not.  :)

It was pretty cold here this past week.  (-29 C or -20F)  So as I was using all that water shamefully, I was thinking...I am pretty thankful for the HOT that comes out almost by magic.

I use lots of things without being thankful for them consciously, but some days it really hits me how blessed we are to enjoy little things we take for granted.

HOT water.  Simple, but such a blessing.

Simple Pleasures - Figit for your Digit

While browsing the other day, I came across this sign:

Being of the curious sort, I had to check it out...

They were an odd looking little ring like thing that looked like it could not really do as it says.  I have joint pain in lots of my joints, but a little pokey ring?  That is going to help?!  AND it only costs $2...hmmmm, I had to try it.

Here it is on my giant, alien like finger!  (that macro setting is kind of fun!)  You just roll it up and down each finger 10 times and it really DOES help with the joint pain.  It tingles and the blood flows better.  So odd, but such a simple little thing.

I am really loving it.
