OK...I know, it is almost 9pm today...but I remembered again on Thursday! :)
So
1. I am thankful for Guacamole. Mexican Guac to be specific. I LOVE avocados, cilantro and onions...and jalapenos (the more the merrier)!
2. I am thankful for a safe neighborhood. It is gratifying to know that when we go to bed and lock our doors, they stay locked. I know my kids are safe at night and all of our "stuff" is safe as well. We do not have to have razor wire and glass on our roof, we can park our vehicles on our driveway and they are there in the morning.
3. I am thankful for this bountiful harvest season. Not over yet, but bountiful none the less. I have had such fun this year drying the heck out of everything, canning and freezing everything I can get my mitts on!
4. I am thankful for color. It is so beautiful out there with all the fall leaves and flowers. I am so thankful for the 3 seasons of color we have. I love to go out and take my photos of the beauty out there.
5. I am thankful that in a couple days we will be able to go and listen to our prophets voice. I am looking forward to the wise council we will be able to hear this weekend.
6. I am thankful for my wonderful boys, (all 4, my dh included!) they are all amazing in their own way and I am grateful to have them in my life...learning all I can from them.
Cheers

Thankful Thursday
Thursday always seems to run away before I get here to do this, so I am glad I thought about it today...I NEED to count my blessings today!
1. I am thankful for free produce! I have SO much canning, freezing and drying done that I have run out of shelf space and have to make another storage room out of somewhere in my house! We grumble a bit about it, but we have an AWESOME storage this year so it makes it all worth it!
2. I am thankful for this last hurrah of hot weather. For the first time in about 3 or 4 years, my tomatoes are actually ripening on the vine! (the deer eat them, but I try to get out there first!)
3. I am thankful for a hubby that works so DARN hard. We have goals and ideas and he always seems to have the energy somewhere to get them done. He also provides well for our family. He is such a great helper to me and when he is gone I realize how much I NEED him. (like this month when he is gone more than he is home)
4. I am thankful for the temple. We don't get to go as often as I would like, but we do get to go and I am thankful for every time we do!
5. I am thankful for homeschooling. We are LOVING this time we are together, the freedom it provides and the opportunities we are extended as a result.
See you next time (still gotta post about my new fun books!)

I'm Baaaaack!
Hey all...so good to be home!
I know it is not "Thankful Thursday" today, but I really need to post this for me.
As many of you know we went to Mexico for 8 days (pictures on another day....so much laundry!). Well, it was so wonderful and beautiful but it made me so thankful for a few things that I have to list here. (in random order)
1. I am thankful for running water, good water pressure, and water we can drink right out of the tap. We can have a shower and not worry if water gets into our mouth, we can brush our teeth and not worry about the water being clean from the tap (is it filtered or not?) we also can have a shower whenever we want and not just if we have enough water stored.
2. I am thankful for CLEAN bathrooms. We are so blessed that our standards of cleanliness are so high. When we stop at a gross bathroom at a gas station or something, it is still WAY cleaner.
3. I am thankful for the beauty of our cities.
4. I am thankful that even cheap hotels are still pretty nice. We can book a hotel based on description and know that it will come pretty close. (we toured so many before finally finding one every night)
5. I am thankful for Hand Sanitizer
6. I am thankful for the safety that we totally take for granted. Our police are there to take care of us and so is our army. They actually get paid enough that they work and are mostly honest.
7. I am so thankful for our homes.
8. I am thankful that I can leave my van on a street and know that it will still be there even if I don't have it locked behind a garage or huge fence.
9. I am thankful that I don't have to have bars on all my windows and glass/razor wire on my roof.
10. I am thankful for restaurants safety standards. We know that if a restaurant is particularly nasty, most likely will be shut down.
11. I am thankful for food safety standards. When food should be hot, it usually is, when it should be kept cold, same goes.
12. I am thankful for freedom and the men and women that fought for us.
13. I am thankful for the green in even our biggest cities, and that it is out there for us to see, not hiding in the middle of the house for only us that live there to see and appreciate.
14. I am thankful for the opportunity to know how incredibly blessed we are in this country. I am so thankful I live in Canada...It may be flawed, it may be cold in the winter, but I have never been anywhere, or lived anywhere else I would rather be.

Thankful Thursday
Been a while for this so here goes:
1. I am thankful for talents. I really enjoy finding new ones or developing ones I already have.
(Peregrine Falcon we saw on our "bird watching with camera" expedition on Saturday)
2. I am thankful for this Summer fun chart that I got finished just in time. It has saved me from yelling and getting angry so many times this summer and I am so glad we are doing it! :)
3. I am thankful for a brother and SIL that are still excited for us to come with them on vacation. We are SO STINKIN EXCITED!!! (17 more days!)
4. I am thankful for little nieces that like to come and play with us. (especially for little Chloe that thinks I am pretty cool!)
5. I am thankful for a garden that is growing. It is almost time to harvest the lettuce and everything else is flowering, I feel so blessed!
Cheers

Thankful Thursday
So today is thursday again...I wasn't going to do another post again, but I am so enjoying these thankful thursdays!
1. I am thankful for our Modern Medicine. Perry has to have an operation again on his hernia and I am thankful that they can do this. Before, it would have been just deal with the pain of feeling like you just got canned everytime you sneeze, lift something, or cough. Poor Perry, good thing we have such GREAT medical care now.
2. I am thankful for a Mom that can rescue me. I had the Elders over on Tuesday and she came to be my chaprone, then takes care of my boys so that I can take Perry to the hospital today. She is always willing to help and is there for me.
3. I am thankful for a brother and sister-in-law that welcomed us to come with them on their trip. We are SOOOO stoked to go to Mexico with them in August. We get to go to Mexico as Verenice grew up in...and I am so excited to show my boys how they live, and to also get to experience it for myself. What an amazing oppertunity for our family!
4. I am thankful that we can have the Elders in our home every week. What wonderful examples they are to our boys and what an amazing spirit they bring to our home.
5. I am thankful for field trips. I get to go on so many with the boys and they get to be exposed to so many things that I maybe couldn't show them. (like the water treatment plant here) This is such fun, but also so educational!
Have a wonderful Thankful day!

Thankful Thurday
I was reading a post on another blog and she does thankful thursdays...well, totally stole the idea...I may only do it a few times, but I really want to do it. I am going to list 5 things that I am thankful for...and do it a few times. So here goes...
1. I am thankful for a Hubby who works so hard at everything. He is a wonderful provider and friend.
2. I am thankful for friends that are totally trustworthy. I know that they are true friends and will be with me no matter what happens in their lives or mine.
3. I am thankful for family. I have amazing little men, parents who support me the best they can, and sibs that are pretty cool too! :)
4. I am thankful for spring. It is so nice to go out and see the flowers and plants blooming and coming back. Such a wonderful reminder of what we can do in our lives. We are blessed to have a Savior who died for us and gives us the oppertunity to repent and be forever worthy of returing to live with him.
5. I am thankful for a garden. I get to plant veggies, fruit, and flowers and then harvest and put them up. I am so excited that I have this knowledge and the knowledge that I can pass on to the boys...also the value of work that it passes on. I am thankful to have the space to do so, and the willing hands.
This was fun and hopefully it makes you think about what YOU are thankful for. I will see if I can do this at least once a month.
Have a great day!
