A couple weeks ago we bought a metal detector. Just a simple one, but one that works well.
We wanted to take it for a walk, and to test it out. It was cold though...
So we walked along seeing if we could find a little bit of metal.
The oldest had read the instructions, so he coached his brothers a bit.
Each little beep was a welcome treasure.
We were in a city park so we didn't dig anything up, but next time we take it out, we are hoping for a little bit of treasure!

I have not done it but it looks like fun! Maybe you will find burried treasure so you can buy a HUGE farm!
I bought Mr. FR a metal detector for Christmas a few years ago. Best "boy toy" for all ages! Especially when the mountains around our house are full of old mines.
That sounds so fun! Jake would totally love that.
We have been Geocaching (sp?) but that is it for our treasure hunts. You will have to let us know what you find when you get to dig the treasures up. :)
